Thread subject: Make a joyful noise

||I was out early before work running an errand and my travels took me past the yellow picket fence nest (a platform on top of a utility pole that has been surrounded by yellow PVC piping to keep stray branches from shorting out to power to the house). There are two chicks in the nest so we pulled over when one of them took off. I have no way of knowing if it was a first fledge - the takeoff seemed a bit tenuous though, and as soon as it went airborn both parents (who were perched nearby) circled around with him as though providing an escort. And talk about noise! That kid NEVER shut up the whole time. It was WONDERFUL!

||That's great, Mel. Wish we had a recording of that joyous flight. How serendipitous that you were there at the right time.

||Oh how I would have loved to have seen that "live". I miss seeing a flight this year.

||Nature takes everything in stride including the first flight while I am totally captured by the sight wanting fireworks, flags, music and words of encouragement and praise for each fledgling!
