Thread subject: Wood's Hole, ever-evolving decor
Name Date Message
Shelley 07/26/10 01:04 pm The Blue Period seems oh, so passe. Enter the new, environmental *Green* phase...

Wood's Hole

;-)
Tiger 07/26/10 01:08 pm So what did happen to the eggs at Wood's Hole? I know the adult birds did not seem to incubate much but I am not aware of what eventually happened?
Shelley 07/26/10 01:29 pm I don't know. I did see 3 adults sitting amiably together on the nest and perch at one point a week or so ago. Who the heck knows. This has been one weird season for this nest, hasn't it?

And hey, nice to see you here again, Tiger!
Melanie 07/26/10 04:12 pm They percolate up to the top occasionally and then get buried again. They're still there.
Tiger 07/27/10 05:05 am Oh thanks for the update. Hope they do better next year.
Shelley 07/27/10 06:55 pm Right now, it looks like they are either building a shrine or a campfire! The centre of the bowl keeps getting weirder and weirder!
Pamela 07/28/10 09:41 am It's definitely going through a green phase, Shelley! This morning it looks like a rustic salad bowl.
Shelley 07/28/10 12:37 pm Yes, Pamela, the green in the centre is much more obvious in the morning hours. By afternoon, the light shifts so that the contrast isn't nearly as noticeable. This nest has been nothing if not entertaining, especially when 2 osprey are there, always at opposite ends of the perch!
