Anne UK1 07/30/10 06:12 pm EJ is sitting on the nest all alone in the dark, just looking out over the countryside.

It seems too early for her to be thinking of setting off south just yet, but it does feel as if she's taking one last look.

I've been more involved with LotL this year for obvious reasons, but every time I have looked in at LG there seems to have been fish galore! Those three chicks have been so well fed, I'm sure they could safely be left in Odin's capable hands now.

I don't know where this year has gone, but all too soon these nests will be empty again.

Celeste 07/30/10 06:41 pm It's still is with or without our DPOF cam, a most bittersweet time of year. It certainly brings to mind a lot of thoughts that I think of at this time of year, wondering when I turn on the DPOF cam each day who will be at the nest, etc. It's been nice this season "observing" other nests particularly the "Lady", and my hope is for "happy trails" to all the osprey we have been following this 2010 season!
Anne UK1 07/30/10 06:55 pm Very bittersweet.

I so miss the DPOF cam, even though we have others to follow - it was always my first port of call in the mornings. Often of couse it would still be dark but gradually the sky would lighten and the cam would switch over to day vision as the sun started to rise. Magical.
