Thread subject: Late osprey
Name Date Message
Melanie 11/07/10 07:48 pm A late osprey was reported moving through NW Baltimore county this morning. Kiptopeke (Southern tip of Virginia's Eastern Shore) has reported 9 ospreys moving through this past week.
Nancy L 11/08/10 11:49 am Enjoy hearing about these stragglers.
FOB Webmaster 11/08/10 04:32 pm Donna from Oyster Cove on the Chesapeake Bay just had a juvie moving through. She posted great photos of him fishing.
Celeste 11/08/10 10:26 pm They are great and a nice treat in November!
Nancy L 11/09/10 11:05 am Those were great photos. Thanks, Lisa.
Pam 11/09/10 11:41 am Pretty amazing photos....she must have had a high speed camera but still had to be quick on the trigger to get those shots.
martyc35 11/09/10 11:47 am Thanks for sharing those great photos, Lisa. Our CA ospreys have moved south of here now, so I await their return in April. Watching an osprey successfully get a fish has to make one wonder about how they evolved to such a state. Yet, it's a tough way to make a living.

Lori 11/09/10 02:08 pm Thanks Lisa! Watching Osprey fish, whether in pictures or real life, never ceases to amaze me. I could watch for hours :)
Pamela 11/09/10 06:21 pm Incredible post, thank you Lisa!
He sure does have tail feathers missing, makes me wonder what happened. Apparently he has a speed gene enabling him to be there and not a meal himself.
