||Those nutmeg mannikins are lovely little birds. Never heard of them before. Impressive squirrel!

||Oh, my, have you been busy, and those are just outstanding pics, Trish. With your permission, I will provide a link to your slideshow in next Sunday's Dawn Chorus. There are so many east coast people there who never see some of these birds. Thank you!

||Oh these are lovely Trish...what a GREAT selection of birds. The Nutmeg Mannikins, also known as Spice Finch, are relatively new to California establishing small populations in California in the 1980's. (Sibley field guide.)
Check out the real name of your Cinnamon Teal Trish...I think you might want to change it , as I believe it is listed as a Redhead Duck. ;-)

||Marie~ Thanks for noticing the duck. Nice catch.
Now.... to go find a cinnamon teal for my life list

||Just enjoyed those with a cup of tea Trish. Very nice indeed. You know my favourites - the white kites !! Those are just gorgeous birds. CA by the sea seems to be the place for a good variety of birds.

||Here in Northern CA, the white kites love the sand dunes that get covered with grasses, and they spend all day looking for prey up and down the dunes, next to the beach. If they only knew about the wood rats that are stealing my bird food, perhaps they would move just a tad inland.
