Melanie 07/27/11 12:15 pm Very weak signal, the driver took a wrong turn three birds have yet to arrive. I bagged it and am hoping for video replay
Pam 07/27/11 04:01 pm I was watching the live coverage. Unfortunately it was not a good place to video from. I did see two birds released either on the cam or on the newsreel. Hope it all went well in the end. Many thousands of people watching on the internet.
Anne-UK1 07/27/11 04:46 pm I missed the whole thing, but have found this report. They've taken the female back to the centre for now as she didn't take off so well, but it seems the others are flying free as nature intended. Here's hoping they have long and happy lives and that the female joins them soon.

Have to say I found it strange that so many people were allowed so close to watch the release, but I guess the birds didn't notice their audience.

Edit - oops, I forgot to attach the report! Try this - Link
Melanie 07/27/11 10:49 pm They estimated over 1100 at the plantation and another 40,000+ trying to watch it online. I did see the video of the female who flew low and went straight into the tree. They had a tough day.

Too sad that the uplink was so weak because one of the people was talking about coming face to fact with the "online community" and not knowing what to think. I hope we weren't that scary to DPOF!
