Thread subject: A good news story from the bear institute :)

Anne-UK1 08/03/11 03:52 am This really started my day with a smile. Maybe not quite on the scale of Marge's miraculous recovery from illness last year, but close. June bear (Lily's mother) looked to have lost the sight in one eye. Lynn Rogers and his staff have been tracking her daily to administer antibiotics, thinking at first that it may just be an infection caused by a minor injury but as time went on had realised there was a hole in the eye probably caused by a gun pellet. This week they resigned themselves to her only having one good eye for the rest of her life.

This is the story from 30th July

Then on today's update, there is amazing news which I just had to share - Link

So good to read :)

bethohio 08/03/11 09:13 am Wonderful news about Gentle June's eye.
Thanks Anne!
Celeste 08/03/11 01:57 pm Thank you Anne... Hopefully she will get sight back in that eye. Amazing!
cathy 08/04/11 12:41 pm I'm going backpacking next week in Washington Cascades and hope to see a black bear. I've seen them before, and intuitively observe from a respectful distance before gently calling attention to my presence (they smell (I smell bad while backpacking) or hear me before they see me so sometimes I say something). I have learned a lot by reading about the Minnesota black bears from the Bear Center.
Nancy L 08/05/11 03:00 pm You're one brave girl, Cathy!
Celeste 08/05/11 04:16 pm As I always tell Cathy, "She is woman she is strong!":)
