Anne 08/20/11 07:50 am This young Osprey HERE was photographed on a survey ship in the North Sea last September. It stayed for an hour and then flew off. It was most likely a Scandinavian bird - lets hope it made it to land.
Shelley 08/20/11 08:06 am Have to log in to Facebook to see the photo. Oh well...
Anne 08/20/11 01:34 pm Is that a problem Shelley? I have just tried to use Photobucket but Firefox wont let me!!!
Anne 08/20/11 01:46 pm Is this any better?

Celeste 08/22/11 04:09 am Just returned from Canada and while there someone was asking me something about osprey. I mentioned that sometimes an osprey (most likely a Juvie) will find itself landing on a ship while migrating. This is a great photo Anne, and the osprey seems to be in good shape. Hopefully it made it.

I went later than usual to Canada this year, and the skies were filled with Juvies "practicing". So many times they would hover over the lakes like they would dive any moment, but alas I never did see one do that. (my husband who was fishing "contantly" and was boating to other areas did see them dive). I also loved watching them soar and just fly so high they were barely a dot in the sky, unless I used the binos! It gets me thinking of how crowded the skies are this time of year. :-)
Anne 08/22/11 06:30 am Your annual trips to Canada sound so tempting Celsete. Hope you had a great holiday.
