Thread subject: 100 Hummingbirds? I should have so much to complain about!
Name Date Message
Melanie 09/23/11 04:07 pm I just came across this on weather.com about a man in Louisiana who has over 100 hummingbirds hanging out on his porch. The birds started showing up after Hurricanes Gustav and Ike in 2008.
Shelley 09/23/11 06:51 pm A friend sent me that link yesterday. It's kind of weird, in a Hitchcock sort of way. Personally, I'd be thrilled if I had even one or 2 regulars..... but 100 does seem a bit excessive (and unhealthy)
Melanie 09/24/11 09:04 am And a lot of syrup to me making every day
Celeste 09/24/11 02:38 pm I would love to just see one! Frank saw one last year at this time, probably migrating, and it paused at a pot on my steps and left. I had just missed it!
Trishrg 09/24/11 05:58 pm Wow!

Come on by Celeste.
I have Allen's hummers year round.
Melanie 09/26/11 03:10 am With the exception of the occasional vagrant we generally get only Ruby Throats on the East Coast. Sigh.
martyc35 09/26/11 01:19 pm We have Allen's and Anna's here. In my climate, a semi-hardy fuschia bush makes it nearly all year round, so I don't even put out feeders for the hummers. Lucky me.

Celeste 09/26/11 01:53 pm Thank you Trish! And what a gift to have an a natural feeder for your hummingbirds Marty:-)
