||Thanks for this link, martyc35. So great to see this area again. I lived in San Francisco many years ago, and used to go to West Marin to decompress. One gorgeous Sunday morning I awoke early and ended up at a small beach at Inverness, where the sun was baking a westward-facing sand bank not far from the calm water's edge.
It was so peaceful -- I promptly fell asleep in the sun.
Something interrupted my sleep -- what was that loud buzzing sound so close to me? Not a helicopter in the distance. Not a plane. Nor a boat, car across the bay etc..
I opened my eyes and about three inches in front of my nose was a hovering hummingbird.
How loud it sounded!
A magical morning with one little bird.
Peace on Earth.

||PS -- whoops the sand bank faced east toward the rising sun.

||What a wonderful memory. Those rare, peaceful times are great.

||You are welcome, Peter. That memory has turned into a reverie, I think. I used to spend many hours on coastal Marin County. One never tires of its beauty, and even a resting turkey vulture looks beautiful out there, wings spread out to warm up in the sun.

||Yes, a reverie indeed.
The close-up photo of the owl in your link above (half way down the page +/-) actually resembles the sand bank in Inverness where I basked in the sun.
Owl right! The circle completes?

||Lovely memory Peter.
Marty, as always love escaping!
