Thread subject: Violet followup
Name Date Message
Melanie 12/31/11 02:20 pm I got an email from Bobby Horvath regarding Violet and whether or not it was a banding problem. He said the band was a secondary problem that normally would not have been an issue. However, the initial problem was that she suffered a traumatic injury to the foot like a rat or squirrel bite which became infected and the band acted like a tourniquet cutting off blood supply and causing the lower portion of the leg to eventually turn necrotic. .... The band was the proper size and this was just an unfortunate rare occurence which could not have been predicted. ... This poor girl had a fractured femur on her "good" leg as well I can only guess she crash landed with the use of only one good leg.
Peter 12/31/11 03:37 pm Thanks Melanie, always good to hear the details, as they help us not jump to conclusions.
Melanie 12/31/11 09:14 pm But some days that's the only exercise I get!
Peter 12/31/11 09:53 pm :)
