Anne-UK1 02/18/12 05:30 pm Great stuff. Thanks Trish. And congrats Lisa! :)
Trishrg 02/18/12 05:59 pm Not sure what kind of bird is for dinner tonight?

Pam 02/19/12 06:59 am Thanks very much for the photos Trish. Good news indeed.
FOB Webmaster 02/19/12 09:43 am We now have two chicks. The 2nd one snuck in on us.

We're trying to get an ID on the bird dinner from one of our bird walk leaders. The beak looked thin to me -- kind of like a grebe or loon, but I'm not sure.
Kelly 02/19/12 11:15 am Congrats, Lisa! It's great that they hatched so close together :)

I caught the 2nd one partly out of its shell - or so it appears - at 7:32am.
Lori 02/19/12 03:33 pm Congrats Lisa! here's to a happy & healthy season :)
cathleen 02/19/12 03:35 pm It always amazes me how little they are in the beginning that they are so hard to see, and how big they become once they fledge!
DaisyG 02/19/12 03:41 pm Congratulations Lisa. Thanks for captures Trish and Kelly.
LeeG 02/19/12 04:07 pm Hi....where is Blackwater?
Richmond Eagle is sitting on 2 that are projected to hatch mid-March.
Thanks for the photos.
Anne-UK1 02/19/12 05:02 pm Hi Lee. Blackwater info is here - Link

Trishrg 02/19/12 05:03 pm Lisa- I would be interested in knowing what kind of bird ID you get on dinner. Going by size, it would have to be a large grebe, or a smaller loon I think. Hard to tell next to an eagle that's "sitting" though.

Lee- Here is the link to the Blackwater Cam
LeeG 02/19/12 06:47 pm Thanks Anne & Trishrg....I'm very familiar with Cambridge.
martyc35 02/19/12 07:28 pm Wow. So close together! Congrats Lisa, and parents, of course.

FOB Webmaster 02/19/12 07:43 pm We asked four of our bird "experts" about the bird dinner. One said immature herring gull, and three said a juvenile snow goose. I personally thought the bird dinner seemed to have a thin bill like the grebe or loon, but most thought it was a snow goose, including our ranger who can see the live monitor.
Trishrg 02/19/12 10:29 pm Didn't look like a goose bill at all to me, and a Snow Goose is a pretty good sized bird. Didn't look that big to me.... well I hope the eagle family enjoyed their dinner!
Celeste 02/20/12 06:23 am YAY!!!!!
