zorro89 03/07/12 04:17 pm I read where the sun erupted in super strong geomagnetic storms late Tuesday. This storm was expected to touch off strong magnetic storms that will effect comm satellites, raido comm. etc. Maybe we'll be able to see the Northern Lights here in NY. I wonder how these magnetic storms will affect, if at all, ospreys and other migratory birds that rely on the earth's magnetic fields to steer them on their journey to their breeding grounds. I hope Betty & Dennis don't end up in Wala Wala Washington lol. zorro89 aka terryo
martyc35 03/07/12 04:29 pm Hi: I had looked that up earlier today, and in the WAPO article I read, the closing statement was this: 'NASA spokesman Rob Navias said the space agency isn̢۪t taking any extra precautions to protect astronauts on the International Space Station from added radiation."
I took that to mean not much to worry about. I could be wrong; I'm not a scientist.
