Tim P 03/15/12 04:26 pm Holy Crow ! I have been trying to get permission from local government to place an osprey platform on top of a lone, vacant 35 foot utility pole which has not had any services attached to it for over 7 years. This pole is ultimately an ideal location, on the beach of the great south bay. The red tape and dealing with the bureaucrats has me kicking myself in the ass for not sneaking on the beach under the cover of darkness and erecting it without anyone"s knowledge. (original plan) Trying to explain about providing suitable nesting locations for a recovering bird species is not as easy as you think it would be. The location is less than 1 mile as the crow flies from the Carmans river. Just trying to help. :(
Bob4 03/15/12 04:43 pm Biggest problem usually is trying to find out who owns the pole.. LIPA or Verizon. They are either.. "On the phone or away from my desk.. please leave a message"..yea right!!!

should we make a petition? Good luck messing with the "system"
Peter 03/15/12 10:23 pm Perhaps the osprey will work it out on their own at this point? Plenty of trees available IMO.

Maybe it is time to test the "system?"

If not now, when?

Trust trust trust.
martyc35 03/15/12 11:35 pm Thanks for trying, Tim. You do so much that is good.
