Shelley 04/08/12 09:10 pm I have an almost identical photo of my red-breasted nuthatch on my feeder with a seed in its mouth! I also have a cool silhouette shot of a robin with some sort of bug in its beak.

Lots of great photos this week! Thanks Marty
martyc35 04/09/12 12:47 am You may remember JulieWolf real name, Julie Waters, who guest hosted on Dawn Chorus many times. She died this morning, unexpectedly; she suffered from myasthenia gravis, and some other conditions, but she was getting better, or so we all thought. Hundreds of people on dKos are devastated tonight. We will all miss her and her photos and music. The farewell diary is here: LINK.

Shelley 04/09/12 08:58 am Oh my goodness. I remember reading references to her being ill but had no idea it was myasthenia gravis. And to die the way she did must have been absolutely terrifying. So very sad.
How old was she, do you know, Marty?
Trishrg 04/09/12 09:01 am Thanks for posting Marty. So sorry for the loss to the community, and esp. to her partner.
martyc35 04/09/12 04:09 pm Well, I found an obituary in her local Vermont paper, but nowhere is her date of birth given. I'd say she didn't make it to 40. She had complications following surgery that she hoped would let her live longer. Besides the MG, she had diabetes and perhaps some other autoimmune problems as well. She did some fantastic bird photos, of course, and she will be remembered by many. Looking back, I am just glad that she made a trip to Bosque del Apache last year; I'm surprised that she was up to that.
