Thread subject: Egg at Loch of the Lowes
Name Date Message
Anne-UK1 04/11/12 06:15 pm Laid in the last hour, it seems. I think that takes her close to 60 so far in her lifetime. Amazing.

Anne-UK1 04/12/12 04:59 am Or maybe no egg. All a bit of a puzzle. She apparently was brooding all through the night, but this morning has been up on the perch, off the nest, or just standing around on the nest.

The male was moving bedding around this morning, walking all over the supposed egg cup. And current close ups from the cam aren't showing any sign of an egg that I can see.

Strange.
Peter 04/12/12 11:26 am Egg or no egg? Problem?

Eggsactly what is going on?
Anne-UK1 04/12/12 12:03 pm It's all very odd. When I looked in this morning she seemed to be looking down into the egg cup looking a bit puzzled, as if what she thought should be there wasn't - but putting human interpretations on a bird's expressions is probably not the most accurate way of viewing things. And it still doesn't answer the question of egg or no egg.

She seems happy enough, whatever has happened, so I guess that's the important thing. She certainly had us all fooled though, that's for sure.
FOB Webmaster 04/12/12 05:54 pm Our female has been doing the same. Standing in the nest cup, sitting down, standing up, sitting down. For two days.
Anne-UK1 04/13/12 03:45 am Have you seen this behaviour before Lisa?

FOB Webmaster 04/13/12 07:59 am Yeah, I think we had it last year. She really faked us out. We wondered if the egg was blocked -- haha! But eventually it came.
Melanie 04/13/12 09:34 am Maybe she's eggstipated.
Peter 04/13/12 09:49 am So when the egg comes out, will she be eggstatic?
Melanie 04/13/12 10:45 am Eggsactly
Peter 04/14/12 04:36 pm Egg confirmed today.
Anne-UK1 04/14/12 04:40 pm I just read the blog. Great news :)
