zorro89 09/26/12 03:33 pm This year's father was one heck of a provider wasn't he Trish. Last year was just the opposite with the river running so swift in the spring/summer due to heavy snow meltoff, two of the 3 chicks perished due to lack of fish. It was wonderful to see the male continue to feed his youngest chick in the nest after the mother and two elder chicks headed off for migration a couple of weeks ago. Many surmised the father continued to bring fish to the nest to give time for the youngest chicks wing to heal. I couldn't believe how quickly the electric company came out and put the plastic protectors on their two poles where the osprey had been using as a perch to eat their fish and chill out. A great hd website w/sound. Looking forward to next season.
Anne-UK1 09/26/12 05:38 pm This was the one with the drooping wing - and it healed okay? Good stuff. Safe travels to it and its father if they've both set off - it sounds like he did a great job.
Shelley 09/26/12 06:18 pm Thanks! I last checked this morning before work (empty nest) and last night too; also empty nest. I sure hope he is on the way and flies safe!
