Thread subject: Tech help, please?

martyc35 03/13/13 02:50 am I'm finally getting Pete's Pond, and looks like some new cams are coming on, and I have completely forgotten how to do a screen grab. I'm on Safari on an iMac OS 10.6.8, in case anyone can refresh my memory on this. I can't believe that I have all these files full of pics but can't remember how I got them! I know I had to hit two keys together and then drag the pic off to the desktop, but which keys were they? Most grateful for help on this,
Marty
Shelley 03/13/13 07:08 am Hi Marty, your extreme NON-tech friend here, ;-)
I don't have a Mac but on my computer I hold the ALT and PRINT SCREEN keys together. Aren't the keyboards the same on Macs and PCs?

Could you give me the link to Pete's Pond again? It's been years since I checked in there
jazzel 03/13/13 11:40 am On a Mac hold command shift and 4, a curser will come up, drag the curser around the area you want to capture, release. The capture will be on your desktop.
martyc35 03/13/13 02:57 pm Shelley, the keyboards are slightly different, and we don't have that right and left stuff that you have on PCs. Jazzel, many thanks for the memory jog. It has all come back to me now!

Shelley 03/13/13 08:20 pm Thanks Marty. The camera is doing weird things right now. Panning back and forth over the tops of trees and what looks like street lights. It's fuzzy and this makes no sense but it looks like it's snowing. I have no idea what I'm looking at
martyc35 03/14/13 12:59 am It gets weird there at PP, but I did see a whole herd of elephants come through in the infrared lighting one night, and apparently (from the comments) hyenas and other wildlife show up, too. I don't have the patience I used to have for watching the cam, but I think when it's working properly, it can still be fun.

Pam 03/14/13 06:20 am I rely on my AnalogX. It is great because you can organize a hotkey, so one quick press and your pic is saved to the folder of your choice. Free download from the AnalogX website.
