Kathy 03/23/13 01:17 pm For those who still check in on this cam...I sent an e-mail and received a reply from Jeffrey Brodeur
today...
"We decided we needed a new approach and fresh start and we removed the old nest leaving a few sticks as a "starter" set. As luck would have it, a male was spotted on the platform for nearly an hour the day after we did it, so we are hopeful that bodes well."
Shelley 03/23/13 04:03 pm You know, I've checked in there several times in recent weeks and it always seemed to me to be so a great nest, what with that cool perch. But it was also always filled with junk. Not all that junk could have been blown in by the wind.
Thanks for this update, Kathy. I really hope some new residents move in! And I hope they adjust the camera so that we can see the top of the perch again!
Shelley 03/23/13 06:55 pm Hehe. I just saw a sparrow land, take off, and land again. Then it slipped under that inner slat on the far left. I wonder if it will bui;t its own nest under there? Remember when our DPOF nest had downstairs neighbours?
It sure gives a great perspective of size when you see a sparrown on the nest. Even the sticks left in the centre are massive compared to their tiny bodies!
Pam 03/25/13 10:47 am Just checked in to see sparrows flitting around. I thought maybe they could have given the nest a bit more covering as a starting point - leaves a lot of work for new residents. I hope there are some. I like that webcam.
Mickey 03/25/13 03:38 pm Im surprised theres no wire mesh bottom
Melanie 03/28/13 03:04 pm Hey you!
