Thread subject: There's an osprey sitting on the nest at
Name Date Message
Shelley 06/29/13 09:26 am Wood's Hole, as I type.

Sadly, just resting, I'm guessing, as there is absolutely no sign of a whisper of a nest. Such a pity

Edited to add that I can't seem to edit my heading. It would be more accurate to say he's sitting on the structure, not the *nest*.
Nancy L 06/29/13 10:46 am Yes, It's really sad looking at an empty platform or an un-used nest.
Kathy 06/29/13 10:51 am Yesterday I checked in and saw two in the afternoon, one was eating a fish and the other was looking around waiting for its share which it never got. Later in the evening...I'm guessing it was the same two, just looking around and hanging out.
Pam 06/29/13 12:37 pm Two there when I checked in, one of which I recognize by the head marking (the Fifties vogue model mark as I call it). The other one I don't recognize and it just flew off. Maybe they are nesting in the area and just resting at WH. In any case I think that the powers that be ought to add more nesting material to the platform to make it more inviting to prospective home hunters. Thanks for the heads up on this Shelley.
Pam 06/29/13 12:50 pm Just had another look, one bird still there and I was mistaken - its not the vogue model marking.
Kathy 06/29/13 03:18 pm Two there again, then one flew away. I guess they enjoy resting there, Shelley.
