Shelley 02/06/14 09:16 pm Thanks, Celeste, I miss live nest cams!! (and looking at a place without snow is a nice treat, too!)
Nancy L 02/07/14 02:18 pm Thanks, Celeste. It's nice & clear...and sound, too!
Celeste 02/07/14 05:08 pm Was watching earlier, and the female was feeding her chick facing the camera, and the male was nearby. The female clicked her bill several times towards the male, and I noticed the camera suddenly panned to the male's leg and it was banded...Technology is wonderful when it works as they zoomed in and the numbers could easily be seen. They are very handsome birds aren't they?
Anne-UK 02/09/14 05:04 pm That is one cute chick! The FAQ's make fascinating reading. If I'm understanding correctly, this little chick will soon be left alone for days or even weeks at a time. Hard to imagine but I guess that's the way it has to be.

Thanks for the link Celeste. And yes, they are very handsome birds.

Anne-UK 02/13/14 04:17 pm I just looked in and the chick appears to be alone in the rain. All curled up and looks to be sleeping, so presumably designed to deal with the elements with no adult protection. A tough life though.
Shelley 02/13/14 05:27 pm I tried to do a screen capture of the chick when he was awake and having a bad hair day in the rain. I can't seem to be able to do it on this new laptop of mine. I do ALT and what I think is the Print Screen button (that's what I used to do on my old computer keyboard) but when I try to paste it into a document or email, nothing happens. I have no idea what to do now so I just abandoned that effort and watched the sweet little thing.
