Thread subject: OSPREY!!!
Name Date Message
Melanie 03/01/14 03:23 pm I was over on "the Shore" today and on the way back spotted my first osprey of 2014. Sitting on one of the locally notorious Rte 50 highway nests near Kent Narrows in MD. Let the games commence!
Tim P 03/02/14 07:52 am Actually hoping not to see osprey on long island as ice covers the bay, lakes & rivers. Major snow predicted for over night. No sign of 40 f degree temps anytime soon.
Melanie 03/02/14 10:45 am We've had fairly mild days for the past few weeks with some temps actually hitting 60. Tonight, however, is the beginning of the same storm headed your way with predictions of anywhere from 5 - 12" depending on where you are, followed by near single digit-bitter cold. While much of our water has been open for the last few weeks, it won't take much to start forming skim ice.
Tim P 03/03/14 06:53 am The snow didn't come in large amounts but the wind chill is 3F.
Melanie 03/08/14 03:38 pm Like most of the predicted snowfalls, they have all been a bust rather than a boom. I don't think we've gotten more than 4" per storm at the very most. Very disappointing. I even went in to work on declared snow days because I would have been embarrassed if my "New England homies" knew that I wimped out and stayed home for 3" of snow. All I really wanted one good dump. I would have been so happy.
