DaveS 06/22/14 04:04 pm Hi all,

Remember this?

http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/06/20/streaming-eagles/?_php=true&_type=blogs&hp&rref=opinion&_r=0

Been a long time, but I still look in on the site one in a while.

Anne-UK 06/22/14 05:15 pm I remember when I first started watching the DPOF nest I didn't understand the message on the cam page about 'no interference'. I innocently thought it was meant to be humorous.

Of course, as time went on I did understand. It's a big learning curve, realising that nature has to run its course and that it's managed fine for thousands of years.
Celeste 06/23/14 11:17 am Hi Dave! Hope all is well!!!! Thanks for the great article, and as I read it a flood of memories...particularly the very early years of witnessing the ups and downs, and the first "down", was indeed a hard pill to swallow for many of us...Little did we know back then how much we would learn and experience and as Anne said, we eventually understood the message on the cam page!
I think I speak for many of us, that no matter how many cams we watch since this cam has ended, we all miss and remember those bittersweet learning days with each and every year we watched the DPOF cam. Yes, Freedom and LIberty was just the cover of the DPOF book, and there are lots of pages in between filled with very fond ups and the downs that taught us what watching nature was really all about!
zorro89 06/24/14 03:53 pm Flag was my fav, I always thought he had a very unique chirp for id purposes.
Melanie 06/27/14 10:37 am Or as my buddy Greg would say, "That's hard nature right there".
