Thread subject: Blackwater Eaglet Hatched Wednesday, it seems...
Name Date Message
cathleen 02/18/15 08:05 pm Just saw this sight.
Congratulations Lisa!
Shelley 02/18/15 08:21 pm Wow, I hope it survives the snow and cold!
How many eggs are there?

Congrats!
Trishrg 02/19/15 08:09 am In spite of the cam not cooperating, I've been following this nest pretty closely.. It looks like the first hatch was on Sunday, the 15th and it may have been a little late. I wonder if it was the 2nd or 3rd egg that hatched? It's not looking good for the other 2 eggs, but the one chick seems pretty active. Just saw an apparent feeding going on through the bad picture. Camera does not like the cold one bit!! Brrrr!
FOB Webmaster 02/19/15 02:13 pm Thanks for trying to watch it! We're very frustrated that the issue seems to be with the cam itself, which we of course can't go up and fix at this point.
Three eggs with one chick, but I'm a little surprised at least one of the others hasn't hatched. Dad has been bringing in lots of food, so that's good.
Trishrg 02/21/15 08:26 am There are 2 chicks now. YAY!
I'm wondering if it's possible, due to the extreme COLD, if hatching could have been slightly delayed?
FOB Webmaster 02/21/15 11:01 am Yeah, they were late this year. That's what's making me not give up on the 3rd just yet.
Anne-UK 02/26/15 03:10 pm So just one chick now. Fingers crossed he/she does well.
FOB Webmaster 02/27/15 01:26 pm Yes, just one. But it seems to be feisty and very mobile, so hopefully that's a good sign
Anne-UK 02/27/15 03:34 pm It certainly sounds like a good sign. Fingers crossed for the little one. There seems to be no shortage of food in that nest!
Trishrg 02/27/15 08:17 pm I watched for a while today and the chick looks really good. The adults are doing a great job keeping the food coming. Today they had another rabbit in the nest and more fish was there too.
