Mickey 03/31/15 09:46 am Both now have nest building action. Looks like the BW nest bowl will be in the front left corner? Hi Lisa.Have you ever considered making a nest in the fall or late winter on this platform to make it more inviting?
FOB Webmaster 03/31/15 07:18 pm Hi Mickey,

We get a lot of wind off the river that blows sticks out of that shallow nest. Plus the eagles love to steal the sticks (we recently saw a heron do it, too), so we'd have to go up in early March to fill it. But I think the ospreys should fill it themselves -- it makes for a good bonding experience. :-)

Trishrg 04/02/15 10:30 am They are bringing in the construction material at a pretty good clip now.
On another note, the BAEA's are spending a lot of time on their nest. Just an observation.
FOB Webmaster 04/02/15 01:23 pm Depending on the birds, they sometimes seem to need a good bit of rest after that long migration
Mickey 04/05/15 06:47 pm I just peeked in and damn if theres not a nest bowl present already. And I see the pair is mating too. 2 great signs that you have a solid pair Grandma Lisa ;)
FOB Webmaster 04/06/15 02:59 pm Thanks, Mickey! Yes, they really picked up their pace. So many sticks! I was at the refuge the other day and saw an osprey at another nest fly by a tree and yank off a branch. So cool to see that.
Mickey 04/06/15 07:36 pm wow. that had to be cool to see. I`ve never seen that. You got a treat :)
