Pamela 04/18/15 07:02 am An egg this morning in the Woods Hole nest.
Has anyone noticed it before and perhaps not posted due to last years's saga?
bdee2 04/18/15 07:20 am Ditto to that question.

Well, looks like she is in good company with numerous house finches (?) to cheep her on!
bdee2 04/18/15 07:36 am does anyone know how to contact via phone the webmaster or someone at WHOI

There is a finch caught in the netting...see the lower right hand corner of the cam.....
Trishrg 04/18/15 08:53 am I don't see anything caught on the lower left of the cam but... if the Osprey is on an egg, they will certainly not disturb the nest, and... I'm quite certain those are House Sparrows, which are extremely invasive non-protected birds.
2 days ago I had an encounter with 3 Osprey dive-bombing each other on the nest. Hopefully that's over and done with.
bdee2 04/18/15 09:27 am hi trishrg..

it is at the lower right hand corner of the cam...hanging at the bottom of the dark blue scarf material.

sad to see. It seems to be weaker now...not flapping as wildly as it did 2 hours ago..
Pamela 04/18/15 10:21 am bdee, there is an email address at the top of the site. They are excellent in responding, although it is the weekend and I'm not sure who is there presently.
bdee2 04/18/15 03:43 pm thxs Pamela! You are probably right about no one being there during the weekend.

Trishrg 04/19/15 08:57 am Whatever that fabric is, it's flapping freely in the wind this morning, so it appears the stuck bird is free.
bdee2 04/19/15 04:20 pm yes...thanks Trishrg :-) Saw that, too.

Human trash in nests, esp fishing lines/hooks are stuff not on the check list for nesting material.....
Trishrg 04/19/15 09:08 pm Fishing line... yeah, I have a pet peeve with fishing line. This is a Cassin's Kingbird next to a nest made apparently entirely of fishing line. Taken in a local park here in So. Cal.
