Thread subject: Bayard Cutting Arboretum, Great river, NY
||04/24/15 02:23 pm
||I visited yesterday. There is an eagles nest that I couldn't see....but it in the natural area of Paradise Island, which is now closed to the public.
The big, weeping beech near the parking field not only doesn't have osprey, it doesn't even have remnants of a nest anymore.
However, there is an occupied osprey nest high in an evergreen tree, just north of the old beech tree. It is on the holly/ivy path.
The man-made pole nest at the end of the big field, next to the river is occupied as usual....she definitely has eggs; and the nest that is on Paradise Is., which you CAN see from the river path is also occupied.
So things are moving along smoothly at the Arboretum.
