||I hope everyone's staying safe and warm through the snow storms. I thought the latest blogs from Rutland might help pass a few hours for snowbound and non-snowbound alike :) - Link

||Thanks for those Rutland blogs.......very interesting.
Today we dug out from two feet of snow from yesterday's blizzard. Actually, my husband did most of the shoveling, & a neighbor came with a snow-blower so I can get to my bird feeders. I baked chocolate chip cookies to give as a 'thank you.'

||Thank you, Anne. Fascinating Rutland stuff, which I shared with my Backyard Science friends on dKos. It has been raining here in Eureka, CA, but we needed it so much, no one is complaining. Glad you east coasters are digging out. That was a hell of a storm!

||I hope the weather's improved a little by now!
The latest blog from Loch of the Lowes has news about one of their ospreys from the Rutland trip - Link

||We still have 1 - 2 inches of snow on the lawns & about. Some people have enjoyed doing some cross-country skiing at the local parks.....and of course, still some piles of snow where the plow piled it up. Roads are all clear for a few days, now.
Hubby & I will be off on a cross-country drive to visit our son in California & my sister in Arizona. We will head south a little through Arkansas & Oklahoma to try to avoid any more snow. We will leave on Feb. 5th get back on the 28th.

||Have a good trip Nancy - it should be a little warmer down there. Have to say, an inch of snow over here and the country grinds to a halt! I can't imagine what we'd do with several feet of it :)
