It's been quiet on here this year. I guess that's good news, not too many dramas on the various nests we all watch - though I know things weren't totally fine on some.
Does anyone know how it went at Woods Hole this year? I'm hoping there wasn't a repeat of the previous two years.

I found a post from Jazzel on the WoW forum.
"The WHOI cam nest fledged both hatched chicks...both juvies doing well...both adults still on site."...........

Hello all!
Hellgate didn't fare too well. Stanley never returned but Iris found a new beau who turns out to be a great catch. Named Louis. Young, eager to learn and very attentive. They hatched 5 eggs but none survived. The first was snatched (on camera!) by a raven, the next 3 were either damaged or never viable and the last one, nicknamed *Dudley*, sat there for weeks past its due date until it too, was snatched by another bird. So sad as this is the 2nd year in a row that Iris had no chicks to raise. But the bonding between her and Louis was established and looks quite strong so we have to be hopeful that they will both return in the spring to a better year.
Hope everyone is well here!

Yes. it has been quiet. I didn't get to check a few old nests at the Cutting Arboretum in Great River, as they closed that path when they discovered an eagle nesting. But I checked later on after fledging should have been over, & they still hadn't opened that section. Maybe I'll go again in the Autumn just to see if it's open.
